Project info
Between July and October 2006, at Sheremetyevo International Airport, there were tests of the SafeScout 100 (now ProVision 2) security screening portal supplied to Russia by Borlas Security Systems (part of Borlas Group).
In the tests, Borlas Security Systems specialists carried out the necessary installation and commissioning work, including software installation, equipment configuration and testing. Company's employees certified by the manufacturer trained over 60 airport operators. BSS specialists further performed service maintenance of the supplied equipment.
SafeScout 100 portal is used to equip checkpoints of enterprises and organizations to prevent the entry of hazardous substances, objects and products made of any materials.
Distinctive properties of the SafeScout portal are its unique screening capacity, 2–4 seconds, the widest range of detected objects and the high information content of the three-dimensional holographic image. The portal is also fully certified and causes no harm to health, unlike x-ray scanners. The system uses a specifically designed program for automatic recognition of weapons, mobile phones and other items that are crucial to security control.
SafeScout 100 (ProVision2) radar scanning portal, integrated into the existing procedure for pre-flight screening of passengers at Sheremetyevo International Airport, is now well operating in the regular (continuous) mode.
Project results
- Improving passenger comfort, increasing the speed of pre-flight inspection;
- Reducing the workload on the staff at checkpoints;
- Improving the safety of passengers, aircraft crew members and aviation personnel at Sheremetyevo Airport.
